Today last day to register to vote in important May 4 election; Don’t forget run off on May 28

By Mike Killalea, NSD president

Today, April 4, is the last day to register in Travis County for the very important May 4 local election. This low-turnout election is expected to draw only 3-5 percent of local voters, which translates to 500-800 total votes.

Your vote counts more than ever! And this election will have critical impact on our schools, parks, property value, and more.

If you have any doubt whether you are registered, you can check here: https://tax-office.traviscountytx.gov/voters.

Early voting is also available at other Travis County sites. For info at other Travis County early voting sites, check here: https://elections.traviscountytx.gov/current-election-information/current-election/

Early voting runs from April 22 through April 30, 7am-7pm except Sunday, when the hours are noon-6pm.

May 4 Election Day voting

On Election Day, one can vote from 7 am-7 pm at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 21900 FM 1431, Lago Vista; Jonestown Community Center, 18649 FM 1431 Ste. 6A, Jonestown; and Lago Vista High School, 5185 Lohman Ford Rd.

On May 4 (or earlier for early voters), you can stop a threatened GOP take over of the Board of Directors of the Travis County Appraisal District.

May 28 runoff

Please don’t confuse this May 4 local election with the May 28 runoff. In the May 28 election, we will select final candidates to put on the November ballot for key positions, including Texas state 3rd Court of Appeals, Place 2. Come to our Saturday, April 13 Meet & Greet to learn more.
