Civic Sundays LA is having a Truth Bomb Workshop, led by Johanna Siegmann, deep diving into the making and sharing of Truth Bombs. This is a virtual event and will be held over Zoom on Friday, February 28 at 4 pm CT/ 2pm PT/ 5pm ET, and again on March 14.
Although the 2024 election loss was due to many real issues, king of them all was disinformation. They basically won with memes.
In this one-hour zoom, the hosts will onboard us into their Civic Sundays Slack workspace. "Together, we will CREATE Truth Bombs – using photos you have taken, or photos friends have shared with you – a simple new, non-confrontational, social-media-based weapon to add to our arsenal," they write.
Marc Elias urges us to be the Opposition, so that’s what we will be. Timothy Snyder urges us to cultivate and amplify new communication methods and messengers, and that’s what this is!
It’s time for a radical change to the way we think of politics, because politics has changed radically. THEY have adapted. We continue to be fractured, and our messaging is scattered. And we continue to value our individuality over discipline, which carries a heavy political cost.
